Since the downsizing of my previous employer, I have
been actively seeking full time employment. I find myself for the
first time in twenty years not only having to fill out applications,
but also having to go on interviews as well. The realization is that
there are at least one hundred applicants and at least fifty percent
of them have the same or better qualifications for every position
offered. This not only gives the employer offering the ability to
“pick and choose” but he also has the ability to offer you the
position at half of your former salary knowing full well that one of
the applicants will accept the offer.
Now is
the time for a change!!
I
strongly believe in the “Water Car” project as it was presented to
me by Steve Schappert. This is not an isolated or insignificant
issue. This project needs to go forward. I have offered my talent,
time and efforts to Steve to see that this project not only gets off
the ground, but I have agreed to see it through.
How do
I find myself in this position?
In my
previous employ I was the Service Manager for Vision Engineering
Inc. in New Milford, CT. I had the responsibilities of the service
dept., Inventory Manager, and Shipping & Receiving Manager. I wore
many hats. I have an associate degree in computer science and an
associate degree in business management.
What
does this have to do with cars.
I have
always had a fascination with cars, from the early days of the
Danbury Race Arena thru the purchase of my first car a 1977 Datsun
280Z 2+2. That’s right the poor mans Corvette! Anyone who knows the
early Z car knows you have one car to drive and three worth of parts
on the shelf to keep it running. Now I have progressed in age and
style I own a 1967 Pontiac. It is a ragtop Firebird with a 350HO
engine pushing 450 plus HP and 4 speed M21 transmission. I helped my
friend build this car back in 84’ and was overjoyed at his
willingness to part with it to me in 04’ I find unbelievable
gratification with the fact that you cannot help but smile while
driving this piece of history.
So what
would be better? How about getting triple the gas mileage from the
same car? You would have better gas mileage than a Honda civic with
four times the power!
And
what would it take but a simple add on HHO system. Now you have pure
muscle with the mileage of an economy car. Truly the best of both
worlds.
I began
working at Toyota back in 85’ and immediately began working with
their Race Team as a crew member, The Company sponsored three cars
in three separate classes a 1985 Mercury Capri in SSGT, a 1985
Toyota MR2 in SSB, and a 1986 Ford Escort in SSC all cars were set
in the SCCA (Sports Car Club of America) showroom Stock category.
This meaning you had to take the car as delivered from the factory
to the dealer and make the best Race Car. ONLY the parts available
from the factory were to be installed. You could not “lighten” the
car or modify it using after market components. You had limits on
all aspects of the car to keep the field “even and fair” allowing
the driver to be the ultimate factor in the race. I was fortunate as
the time when on to become the Crew Chief for this car when the
previous chief was promoted to the GT class vehicle. In this year
Both the GT class car as well as the SSB car took both the Overall
standings championship as well as the point’s championship in their
respected classes.
